58. Soler (Used to)

Explanation

In this topic we will look at the useful Spanish verb ‘Soler’, which translates to ‘To usually do/To be accustomed to do’ in English.

Solía is the Imperfect tense of the verb Soler and is used for repeated/habitual/ongoing actions and descriptions in the past when the action did not have a definite beginning or end.

(E.g. Yo solía trabajar en Madrid. Nosotros solíamos vivir en el centro de la ciudad. Mis padres solían visitar España los veranos. Mi hermano solía beber mucha cerveza, pero ahora no bebe nada de alcohol. ¿Vosotros solíais ir de vacaciones dos veces al año?)
