In this topic we will compare the Past Simple & Present Perfect grammar tenses.

Past Simple: I verb-ed

For completed actions in the past that happened in a specific period of time that has finished

(E.g. María compró una casa en mayo. Ayer comí patatas. Juan ganó la lotería en abril. ¿Jugaste tenis anoche? La semana pasada visitamos el museo.)

Yo -é/-í (e.g Nadé / Corrí / Viví)
Tú -aste/-iste (e.g Nadaste / Corriste / Viviste)
Él/Ella -ó/-ió (e.g Nadó / Corrió / Vivió)
Nosotros/as -amos/-imos (e.g Nadamos / Corrimos / Vivimos)
Vosotros/as -asteis/-isteis (e.g Nadasteis / Corristeis / Vivisteis)
Ellos/as -aron/-ieron (e.g Nadaron / Corrieron / Vivieron)

Present Perfect: I have verb-ed

For completed actions in the past that happened in a non-specific period of time that has not finished.

(E.g. He visitado París tres veces. He perdido el móvil. En toda mi vida, he viajado en avión más de treinta veces.)
